How You Can Help Support This Partnership
The Diocese of Eau Claire, in collaboration with the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee, is in Partnership with the Diocese of Haiti and the mission
and community of St. Marc’s Episcopal Church and School in Jeannette Haiti.
As partners with the people of St. Marc’s Church and School
in that remote mountain top village, it is our intent and prayer to help brothers and sisters in Christ realize their dreams for growth and
self-sufficiency.
We commit to being supportive, and to sharing the needed technical skills and financial resources, as we are able.
We also offer a prayerful presence as, together, we work towards a sustainable community,
using the Millennium Development Goals as a guide.
Status of the 2008 Goals for Haiti Partnership
| 1. Send $1,000 so they can finish the new classroom and relieve over crowding.(ACCOMPLISHED IN JANUARY 08) | ||
| 2. Help staff set up and furnish a lab. with microscopes. (ACCOMPLISHED IN SEPTEMBER 08). | ||
| 3. Help staff set up a computer lab. (ACCOMPLISHED IN OCTOBER 08). | ||
| 4. Have St. Marc’s Church and School,be included in the prayers of the People, throughout the churches in the Diocese. | ||
| 5. Put a new roof on the Teacher’s Dorm and buy new mattresses for each staff person who lives there. | ||
| 6. Have two major fund-raisers in the Diocese during the year to help “furnish” the new Trade School. | ||
| 7. Continue to try and get a liaison person from each church to help with the Haiti Commission and intentionally enfold them into the work of the Commission. | ||
| 8. Have a group go on mission to Jeannette. | ||
| 9. Host Father Lazard and his wife and child in the Diocese in summer ’09 and get them to many of the churches. |
2009 Goals for Diocese of Eau Claire Haiti Partnership
| 1. Advent “In-Gathering” for St. Marc’s School Lunch Program with every church in the Diocese participating. | ||
| 2. Lenten “In-Gathering” for classroom improvements such as cabinets for supplies. | ||
| 3. Increase individual and Church-wide sponsorships in the Diocese so that we increase our giving toward the general budget of the School. Currently at 52, we once more set a goal of 100 sponsors. | ||
| 4. Have St. Marc’s Church and School,be included in the prayers of the People, throughout the churches in the Diocese. | ||
